1st information announcement

TELESOL Project devoted to development of teleworking methods between partners from European Union (EU) and Common Independent States (CIS) in various spheres of human knowledge and action hold an International Conference named «e-Collaboration@work: EuroasiaOnline'04» in October, 2004, in Almaty. The Conference will continue Europe and Asia’s cooperation ideas put on the similar Conference EuroasiaOnline'98 in 1998.

Themes of presentations and discussions

Audience

The main audience will represent with educational, medical and business communities of Kazakhstan, CIS and EU, including teachers, medics and business fields’ representatives. The Conference will be also widely announced in all the eight CIS countries participating in TELESOL Project. So it is supposed that representatives from Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Armenia and Russia will take part in the Conference. Also it is expected a broad participation of EU specialists from Netherlands, France, Germany, Austria, Poland, Turkey and other countries. A number of e-collaboration international projects that go on in common by EU and CIS will be presented at the Conference. Representatives of IST projects and other EU telematics initiatives will make a speech. Funds, organizations and individual specialists in modern information technologies for distance education, scientific research and e-working, telecommunicate companies as well as universities’ teachers, Helth-care and Education Ministries’ representatives and Agencies on Information and Communication of Kazakhstan and other countries are welcome to the Conference.

Submission of abstracts

Research organizations, institutes and individual specialists direct to elaboration and use of modern information technologies in various fields of human knowledge and activity and in particular education, medicine, business, scientific research and others are invited to participate in the Conference. International telematics projects leaders and authors’ participation is welcomed as well as scientists, universities’ teachers, governmental representatives, students and businessmen.

All applications including title, brief thesis in English (at the most 5 sentences) and the participant’s information must be sent to the Organizing Committee by e-mail s_shamanaeva@katelco.kz or by fax +7 3272 502090 with subject EurasiaOnline’04 for Sariya Shamanaeva by the 10th of September, 2004. Reports on the most actual modern directions will be included to the Conference program (please, send also your report text for printing). The report excepting confirmation will be sent to the author till 25th of September. The reports abstracts will be placed on the TELESOL Project’s web site.

Languages

The major languages of the Conference are Russian and English. Plenary sessions will be provided with simultaneous translation, sectional meetings will be supplied with consecutive translation.

Information for participants

Accomodation:

The Conference takes place in Almaty – the largest city of Kazakhstan which is situated on foothills of Zailiyskiy Alatau. You can find more detailed information about Almaty on the web-site.

Organizing committee plans to reserve rooms for foreign participants in Hotel-sanatorium Kargalinskiy situated in southwest ecologically clean part of the city. The hotel is surrounded with picturesque green territory and has at it’s disposal a number of sporting construction such as swimming pool, gym, tennis-courts, billiard-tables, which will be at the participants’ disposal. Sessions will be held in conference halls of the hotel.

Cost of stay at the hotel varies from 7000 up to 18000 tenges per night including 4-times meal and sporting and recovering procedures. A meeting at the airport can be organized if necessary. It is planed an excursion on city or it’s vicinities.

Circuit of travel: from the airport you have to reach the junction of Zhandosov and Sain Streets, move along Sain Str.and pass Frunze Str. When you see a filling station Gelios on the right hand, turn to the right and follow for about 500 meters. When you see an advertising board of the Kargalinskiy Hotel turn to the right at once. Visa:

All CIS participants don't need visa. In order to entry the RK participants from EU countries should have a visa, which issued only by Kazakhstan diplomatic representatives & consul founding. Foreign citizens intending to come to Kazakhstan should apply for entry-exit visa and present the following:

Currency:

Climat:

Almaty city is situated on the high of 900 m above a sea level. Climate is sharp - continental. The average temperature of Almaty in October is 45F (7.2C), average precipitations are 2 in (5.1 cm). You can see the detailed weather forecast on the web-site.

Electricity:

Electricity is supplied at 220V, 50Hz

The presentation equipment:

The reports must be presented in Power Point. Corresponding equipment including LCD-projector and Internet access will be available in all sitting halls.

Arrival:

Almaty airport is remote on distance in 16 km from the center of the city. It is a new building on the airport territory, which is in line with the world standards in service and equipment. Trip busses and taxes depart from the airport.

You can reach the following cities of Europe - Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London and Istanbul – with any suitable flight. Direct nonstop flights are carries out from the cities to Almaty by Lufthansa, KLM, British Airlines, Turkish Airlines. Everyday flights are realized from Moscow to Almaty by Transaero and Air Astana.
